Formula 24: Eyewash

Uses: Eye Swelling, Eye Inflammation, Eye Fatigue, Eye Strain, Eye Redness, Eye Infection, Puffy Eyes, Eye Soreness
Comments:
1/2 tsp. dried Eyebright
1/2 tsp. dried Chamomile
1/2 tsp. Rose Petals or Fennel Seeds
2 cups pure, distilled water
Combine the herbs together in a pot, cover and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat. Allow the wash to steep for 30 minutes. Strain the mixture through a coffee filter two times, changing filters for each straining. Cool the mixture or refrigerate it until it is soothing to the touch. Apply the wash to the eyes as a compress, using a clean cotton wash cloth. Dip the cloth into the solution, wring the cloth of excess liquid, then place the cloth securely over the eye area and rest lying down for 10 minutes. Repeat if necessary. Cotton balls may be used instead of the wash cloth. Wrap each cotton ball in some gauze, then dip into the solution, using a sterile spoon to squeeze out excess liquid. Be sure that hands and utinsels are clean when administering this formula.
Note: This solution can be used as a tea as well. Follow the above instruction. Filter or strain the tea only once before consuming. Drink it hot or at room temperature.
